Many business like to show where they are located, and most use a google map embedded into their “Find Us” page, or link directly to Google Maps.

On developing a new social site for touring Cheshire (soon to be released into beta), I have been looking into what different uses Google Maps has when embedded.

One of the many functions I’ve discovered within the Google Maps Api community is Reverse Geocoding. Geocoding is the process of assigning geographic identifiers to to map features and other data records, such as street addresses. Reverse Geocoding what it says on the tin, retrieving the address of a given point on the map.

Click here for an example, and if you are interested in using Google mapping within your sites contact us.
