When and Where to take your camera!

Question: When and where should you take your camera?
Answer: ANY TIME, ANYWHERE!!!!
While out on a walk in the neighbouring nature park, we sat down to have a short break on some steps on the wooded path next to the lake, while we chatted I noticed a squirrel rummaging around in the leafs looking for his burried nuts stored from the previous year. We watched for quarter of an hour from just metres away, then to my amazement he jumped on a large fallen branch next to him, I thought to myself “the perfect shot” but where was my camera, back at home sat on my desk.
The next day we went out for a similar walk, I thought on the off chance that “lighting could strike twice”, we could go back to the spot where we saw the little fella. We arived around the same time, and waited. Then i was supprised to see a squirrel (maybe the same one) scurrying near by. We waited quitely hoping that he might come in close again for photo, but then I heard screaming, the screaming of playing children and away Mr Squirrel ran.
Two lessons I’ve learned from this:
Number One, Take your camera everywhere, even if you think you won’t see anything of interest, you never Know! Better to have your camera and not use it than need your camera and not have it.
Number Two, If you plan on any wildlife photography, don’t go on a bank holiday weekend, too many people to disturb things.
